Kroy are ebony-skinned humanoids who are primarily known for their warlike philosophy and their distinctive armor. The Kroy have a complex philosophy which places great emphasis on prowess in battle, and which forbids them from any appearance of weakness. There are numerous sects which interpret the Kroy creed in different ways, but all Kroy share a passion for personal combat, a disdain for noncombatants, and a taboo against exposing any bare skin in public.
