"Cartel Chota Bhai"
Cartel Chota Bhai is not as large and successful as the Koadrilaren, but they are even more ruthless in their pursuit of advantageous trade contracts and in securing trade routes. Most of Chota Bhai's operations are in the nonallied systems between the Starways Congress and the New Imperium.
"United Brotherhood of Contract Workers"
Professional soldiers, these mercenaries perform military operations throughout the Thousand Worlds. Even the New Imperium relies on Contractor orbital artillery support in remote regions, and most noble houses have hired them either to assault their rivals or to quell rebellions. But soldiery is not the only labor this organization provides; they provide all sorts of trained help: construction, waste removal, starship engineering, etc. In fact, it can be dangerous to hire trained labor before checking to see if the Contractors have a noncompetition agreement in place with the local authorities. There are numerous mercenary companies, but none as large or as profitable as the Contractors.
"Interstellar Association of Escorts and Entertainers"
From armed escorts to short-term companionship, the Companions have it covered. The Companions are most well known for their skilled courtesans, but they also provide highly trained bodyguards, talented entertainers, and administrative and personal assistants.
"The Koadrilaren Syndicate"
The Koadrilaren Syndicate is a collection of trading consortiums and professional middlemen. The tendrils of the Koadrilaren reach far and wide across the galaxy. The Koadrilaren has innumerable competitors, but none of those is even a close second in money, influence, or raw power.
"Guild of Reclamation and Salvage Workers"
If you can't find what you're looking for legally, chances are the Scavengers can get it - for a price. Scavengers specialize in all sorts of fringe and dubiously legal activities: gambling, black market goods, and even thievery. Of course, they deny it all, hiding behind the guise of a salvage and reclamation guild. Unlike most commercial entities listed here, the Scavengers are a guild primarily in name. In practice, they have little to no loyalty to each other or to the guild as a whole, and only band together when attacked by non-Scavengers.
"The Far Travelers"
Star pilots, explorers, and engineers, this intrepid organization is what most people think of when they imagine those whose business takes them offworld. Unlike most successful commercial entities, the Travelers do not generally seek to maintain their market dominance by force: they succeed because they are, quite simply, the best at what they do.
The Sages Of Olento
Peaceful ascetics devoted to the teachings of Olento, an amorphous extradimensional entity. Theirs is a peaceful missionary religion: they actively proselytize, but they are not hostile to those who resist the Way Of Olento. The Sages Of Olento use cutting-edge technology to archive Olento's teachings and to keep track of Olento's followers across the universe. They will send a data crystal with the compiled Teachings Of Olento to anyone who requests one (for a small fee). However, they ruthlessly persecute those that distribute copies of the Teachings Of Olento without paying the licensing fee. There are rumours that harsh critics of the Way Of Olento are prone to catastrophic computer failures.
