- Ageless: Ladon has witnessed more of this worlds history than almost any other creature on earth.
- Treasure Horde: Collections of things he thought was fun or shiny from his travels. These could be a type of wine he enjoyed, or a suit of armor he liked the make of.
- Mythical Beast: Ladon is an immortal creature from legend. He has met many other creatures, as they seem to just find each other. Like ageless islands in an every changing current.
- Hunted Dragon: Ladon is just one of many types of dragons that used to protect the special places of this world. They have been and always will be hunted for the properties of their bodies.
- Arrogant: Ladon is very full of himself, often placing himself in harms way. What mortal can hurt a dragon?
- Guardian: Both a blessing and curse, Ladon will always guard what he feels he must. A dragon is not easily separated from his charge.

Ladon was the serpent-like dragon that twined and twisted around the tree in the Garden of the Hesperides and guarded the golden apples. He was overcome by Heracles. Fifteen long years later, Jason and the Argonauts passed by on their chthonic return journey from Colchis and heard the lament of Aigle, one of the three Hesperides, and viewed the still-twitching Ladon.
That's what they write about him anyway. That's all that history seems to remember of the dragon Ladon. Don't remind him of that though, if you value your mortal head. He will swear most of it was wrong anyhow, and he should know, he was there. If you ask him what he is he will simply say, "I am Ladon, Guardian of the Ages," as that should be enough for anyone. Ladon was not born, not that he remembers. One day he opened his eyes and simply was, tasked with the purpose of guarding the Garden of the Hesperides. This was all he knew at the time, and a job he took seriously. He will tell you he never faltered in his duty, and guarded the apples from mortals to this day. If pressed he is quick to point out Titans that hold up the world do not count as mortals. Deep down he knows he failed but will never openly admit it. He has guarded many things and people throughout his lifetime, from ruined castles to kings and ladies. As with all things man creates, they fail to time at some point. This is something Ladon accepts with a heavy heart, even he cannot save something from the ravages of time.
Ladon often found himself rudderless in his long lifetime. What does a guardian dragon do without something to guard? He has spent the time gathering things around him that this world find valuable. He does it just to have something of worth in this world to look over and is very possessive in his own sense. Ladon has no problems giving his wealth to those who need it, or but heaven help those who take it. Until recently he ran a private security firm, offering personal security to valuable items and people. He closed all of that down when he was approached by Tiresias, the immortal blind seer. Tiresias, one of Ladon's few friends, opened the way for him to join Citadel, a new group a super heroes to protect this world.
Ladon has found his place, he has found something to guard. What better job for a guardian dragon then to guard the people of this world. They will change but not fade with time, they will always need the help of ... LADON! Guardian of the Ages!
Ladon has lived forever as far as he can remember and it shows in his personality. He is arrogant because he has seen the rise and fall of nations the people of today can only imagine. He has fought with Titans, had lunch under the ageless trees with Hesperides, and stood beside some of the greatest men in history. He has a hard time taking the everyday worries of mortals to heart in the light of such things. To him they fail around worrying about things that will be dust and gone in a matter of heartbeats for him. He really only treats other immortals as equal in his mind, because only they can know what he sees.
He is a guardian at heart and though he doesn't understand a lot of their worries, he will help them. Being a dragon and ageless, Ladon feels its his duty to help though with such short but bright lives. They cant see as much as he has, or see the long plan of things, so they need him to guard them from the things they dont see, so they are free to worry in peace. Under his scales Ladon does love his little mortals and all their amazing accomplishments. He is often sad to watch their creations crumble to dust when their little attention spans falter.
He sees himself as the guardian of this land now, and stands tall to show it off the mortals below him. In his mind they go to sleep comfortably each night under his watchful gaze.
Ladon is a dragon and fights as such. How dare a mortal raise its hands to one such as he. In human form Ladon uses his fear on those who make an obvious threat, to level the field a bit. Using his broadsword to join in the glorious dance of battle.
In dragon form Ladon is truly freed. He will burn his foes with fire, and smash their tiny works with his might tail. Often he will take the sky to rain fear and fire on his foes, and is not above eating someone to get a point across.
